Jaipur Rugs to participate in Design Shanghai 2015


New Delhi, March 21 (IANS): Jaipur Rugs, a manufacturer of hand-knotted carpets, will showcase its wares at Design Shanghai, which will see the participation of some of the leading brands from around the world.

Design Shanghai, China’s leading international design event, will be held March 27-30 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.

Jaipur Rugs will be showcasing some of its finest designer collections like Jenny Jones Connextion, Aurora and Chaos Theory by Kavi.

A brand new collection, Project Error by designer Kavi, that has just been launched in the European market, will also make its debut in China.

“We are excited to participate at Design Shanghai for the first time in the world's most exciting and fastest growing city. The show’s success last year is proof of a progressing Chinese design consciousness, acceptance and appreciation of finely crafted products”, Jaipur Rugs director Yogesh Chaudhary said in a statement.

Inspired by the natural environment, Jaipur Rugs’ selection suggest peaceful paddocks and quiet rural pleasures. Created with natural fibers, each piece evokes a sense of peace or rustic charm.

Each rug benefits over 180 artisans in rural India by providing sustainable livelihood and ensuring access to healthcare and adult literacy, among others.
