Air India Express Arrives  and Takes off from Muscat

Muscat, Feb 15: Air India Express which took off at 4.10pm from Abu Dhabi, landed at Muscat’s Seeb  International airport at   4.40pm.

After a brief Inaugural ceremony, AI Express flight took off on time - a few minutes earlier than the stipulated departure time to Mangalore

 


Indian Ambassador to Oman, Director General of Seeb International Airport, and other community leaders were present during the joyous occasion.


 

Ceremony held at the Oman Air Lounge

The Inaugural Ceremony was held at the Oman Air Lounge at the Seeb International Airport – Muscat was a perfect climax of realization of a dream and happy mood of all Mangaloreans here in Oman. It was simply a marvelous function exhibiting lot of excitement and then, satisfaction of accomplished a mission.

H. E. The Ambassador of India Ashok Attri, Abdul Rahim bin Salem Ali Al Harmi, Act DG for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, DGCA, Rashid Al Kiyumi, Director of Transport, Eng. Abdulla Bin Omar Al Ojaily, Director of Air Safety, DGCA, Mr. Tripathi, Consular General of Indian Embassy, Dharmesh Khimji, Managing Director of Ajit Khimji Group, F. J. Vaz, Regional Director of Air India Express – Gulf, Middle East and Africa, Mrs. S. Pancharatnam, Oman Country Manager of Air India Express were present along with many Mangaloreans and their friends.



Ceremony commenced with a warm and hearty welcome by Mrs. Pancharatnam. In her address she expressed a deep joy and delightfulness about maiden flight to Mangalore.

Ceremony of lighting of the traditional lamp was performed by the dignitaries. Mementos were presented to the H E Ambassador and also to   Abdul Rahim bin Salem Ali Al Harmi by F. J. Vaz.

In his speech H E The Ambassador highlighted the fruitful relationship between the two countries and expressed joy about the maiden flight during the commencement of the maiden flight to Mangalore. He thanked the officials of DGCA for all the cooperation and support extended to implement flight to Mangalore.

Cake Cutting Ceremony was also held to express joy of this great occasion.

In his speech, F. J. Vaz expressed keen interest to have more flights to Mangalore with a sincere request to have more and effective business load so that Air India Express can have more flights.

Rajeshwaran, Airport  Manager proposed vote of thanks.

Muscat, Feb 15: Passengers to Mangalore on the direct flight from Muscat are in a festive mood. The energy and excitement at the Muscat International Airport is encouraging as this is first ever direct flight to Mangalore and will take off a few moments from now.

Passengers as well as well wishers can be seen greeting one another and several are in the traditional Mangalorean attire

Our correspondent at Muscat airport has said that, Mangaloreans are overwhelmed and just waiting to board the historic Air India Express flight.


Flight is expected to take off at 6 pm and expected to reach Mangalore 10.30 IST
