Dubai, Feb 14: The BCF Sports Committee chaired by Ashraf Shaikh, conducted Sports Day 2007 on 9th Feb., 2007 at the Crescent English School, Dubai.
There were a lot of exercising event included running race, long jum, sack race, four corners, musical chair competition, kabbai tournament, volley ball tournament, cricket tournament etc. supported by the Kairali Track music entertainment.
The event started in the morning and ended by 8 pm. The cricket tournament was won by Kundapur Team followed by the Perliya Team. The sports day started with the shot put throw and long jump in the morning hours followed by other games. More than 400 people attended the sports day including men, women and children. There was an introduction of new game namely Kabbadi Tournament. The Kabbadi tournament was won by KIKB team lead by Mr. Fakeer and the second position went to Attoor Team.
Similarly volley ball tournament was won by Kannagkar team. The main rolling trophy was retained by the Kannagkar team.
The prizes were sponsored by Dr. B.K. Yusuf, M.E. Moolur, Latif Mulky & Shahda, Dr. Kaup. M.E. Moolur introduced the rolling trophy for the kabbadi tournament. Most of the children were provided with free gifts on the sports day. The canteen provided relishing meals and snacks from time to time.
Participants from Fujairah, Dibba, Khorfakkan, Sharjah, Ajman, Rask Al Khaimal, Abu-dhabi and Dubai attended the sports day. There was a musical program by the Kairavali Track music company lead by Akbar and Haneef Perliya. Kairvali track music was inauguarated by K.S. Shekkaba and Dr. B.K. Yusuf. Several members sang on the eve of the sports day.
We had the following guest of honors - K.S. Shekkaba, Patron, Dr. B.K. Yusuf, Mr. Prabhabkar, President Sharjah Karnataka Sanga etc. The event was marvelous. Congratulations to all the members who have helped to complete this event successfully.
The Fujairah group got the best team award for the best outfit as they wore a common dress to identify their team members. The Fujairah group also received an award for the best spirit, coordination and disciplined team.
Dr. Yusuf stated that he will sponsor Platinum cup for the volley ball team next year.
The event ended with a vote of thanks given by M.E. Moolur.
