Gunmen attack Tunisian parliament, take hostages


Tunis, March 18 (IANS): Gunmen attacked the Tunisian parliament on Wednesday and took several people hostage, according to media reports.

There were casualties, according to a BBC report, while privately owned Mosaique FM said that people were taken hostage inside the Bardo Museum, which is next to the parliament building.

Xinhua news agency, citing Tunisian media, reported that gunshots were heard near the parliament complex on Wednesday morning, which was immediately evacuated.
