Dubai, Feb 9: Kuwait has decided to remove the shackles on expatriate workers facing travel bans by allowing them to transfer their residence permit to another sponsor.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour has issued the relaxation as part of its efforts to solve the problems of expatriate workers, Kuwait Times reported.

The relevant committee at the ministry will study complaints of expatriates who are prevented from travelling.

It said if the sponsor insists on the travel ban, the ministry would demand in writing on what charges the worker's travel should be restricted.
