Ministry of Designs showcase collection at NGO launch


New Delhi, March 14 (IANS): Designers Rashima Singh and Winky Singh showcased their latest collection under their label Ministry of Designs during the launch of NGO Umeed here.

The event took place at Radisson Blu Club ASOM. It saw a mix of gowns, as well as Indian and Indo-western ensembles with detailed work and heavy embroidery, a statement said.

Umeed is a Delhi-based NGO that aims at serving girls under the age of 25 in all aspects. Understanding their needs, their dreams and helping them achieve their goals, saving them from abuse are also among the top aims of the NGO.

Talking about the association, the mother-daughter duo, known for their custom made gowns and ethnic Indian outfits, said that it was a pleasure doing something for a cause.

"It was an immense pleasure to collaborate with the launch of this new NGO called Umeed. It's always great to combine your talent with a social cause. We are really thankful for having this opportunity to serve our country through our art," the designer duo said in a joint statement.
