Mumbai, Feb 6: The second Annual Day Celebrations of the Konkani Catholic Welfare Association (R) Bhayandar,  was held on  Saturday February 3 at Our Lady Of Nazareth Church Grounds, Bhayandar (W) here.

On this occasion, Konkani play  “Kaun Jikta”  written by  Henry D’Silva, Surathkal and  directed by popular dramatist  and “Konkan Kala Ratna” Sunny D’Souza, was presented.  The function was well attended by more than 500 people from in and around Bhayandar.

A commemorative souvenir of the Association was released by the chief guest Gilbert John Mendonca, the first mayor of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Council.  Konkani entrepreneur of “Little King Business Group”  Maxim Mathias was the guest of honour.  They were felicitated by association president George A Sequeira, on behalf of all the Konkani people of the region.  Prior to this, George A Sequeira welcomed the audience and introduced the chief guest and guest of honour to the gathering.

All the characters in the play performed to their best and entertained the people with  their excellent dialogues and  humour  with  a social message for the people which kept the audience spellbound.  The evening was a memorable one for the Konkani Catholics of Bhayandar as this was a great evening they had long awaited for.  The large gathering was an evidence for their enthusiasm.  The Konkani Catholic Welfare Organisation is actively working and promoting the causes of Konkani in and around Bhayandar.
