Kuwait: Dainy Cutinho Re-elected President of AAK

Kuwait, Feb 4: Two years have gone by since the maiden General Body meeting of AAK was held in February 2005. It was indeed a feeling of joy amongst the Agnesians for their overwhelming response in all the various events organised by them.

The year 2005 – 2006 has seen AAK growing with the support of all the Agnesians, non-Agnesians and our ALMA MATER.  The proceeds of the various events helped in their cause of “Educating the women” which was a great success in that of supporting young girls of St. Agnes, who were sponsored for their education through AAK Scholarship.

Keeping their same goal in mind the next Second Annual General Body AAK Meeting for 2007 was held on February 2, 2007 at BIBI Complex. Jackie Alphonso took charge as the moderator and welcomed all the members. Annet Castlelino beautifully led the prayer. Ivy Sequeira and Celine Mendonca presented the Annual Report and the Statement of account respectively.  Reema D’Souza professionally led the proceeding of the Election. As the meeting continued, the President Diany presented  many issues and discussed which would benefit the growth of AAK. It was also decided that the AAK Annual Day will be held on 24 February 2007 to bring togetherness amongst the members and their families.

The AAK Executive  and the Management Committee for the year 2007 – 2009.  were elected, backed and initiated by the other members as well.

Diany Coutinho, was unanimously got re-elected as the  President and Felcita D’Souza as Vice-President.  The members were nominated and  willingly accepted their respective posts. General Secretary - Annet Castelino, Joint Secretary-Reema Lasrado, Treasurer – Diana D’Souza, Cultural Secretary- Celine Mendonca, Co-ordinator Liturgical Services- Letitia D’Costa, PRO- Voilet D’Souza.The Management committee was formed as Sarina Lewis, Anita Fernandes, Leena Fernandes, Jovita D’Souza & Wanishia Fernandes enthusiastically  came forward to further strengthen AAK.

The President congratulated committee members for their initiative, cooperation and upcoming support for the smooth sailing of the Agnesian flag.  The meeting ended with chit chatting over delicious refreshments.

The Executive and the Management Committee members of AAK look forward for the continued support of one and all as always, in all their future endeavours in helping to reach their goal and making our society a better place to live.
