Abu Dhabi - Muscat - Mangalore: Book Your Direct Flight
Dubai, Feb 2: Finally, The Sultanate of Oman has become the second international destination picked up to have direct flights into Mangalore. In an official release to daijiworld.com, the airline has announced that the first direct flight from Muscat to Mangalore will operate from Feb 15, 2007. The IX 830 Air India Express Aircraft will depart from Abu Dhabi at 16.10 hours . It will arrive at Muscat International airport at 16.40 hours. With a convenient transit time the flight will depart Muscat at 18.00 hours and reach Mangalore at 22.35 hours. The same flight will return at 23.55 hours.
Inititially they will fly twice a week, Thursdays and Saturdays. The one way fare would cost AED 679 ( approximately Rs. 8000)

While speaking to Rajesh Sequiera, NRI co-coordinator of UAE, an Air India official has said , " Currently there will be only two flights to Mangalore from this destination.Once we study the marker, we will eventually increase the frequency." Further he said, " The Dubai -Mangalore direct flight will fly six days a week from March." This was earlier reported by daijiworld a couple of weeks back.
Air India Express has assured that, there will not be any conflict between Dubai and Muscat flight arrival timings at Mangalore. The Mangalore airport congestion has been a cause of great concern in the recent past. Hence , to avoid any delay or inconvenience , the airline has taken precaution to land the new flight only after Dubai flight takes off.
In the next few weeks, Air India Express will announce a Doha - Bahrain - Mangalore flight schedule
