Family film in offing: KJo on Shakun Batra's next

Mumbai, Feb 11 (IANS): Filmmaker Karan Johar took to micro-blogging site Twitter to announce his next untitled project, which will be helmed by Shakun Batra.

The filmmaker, known for his glamourous family entertainers like “Student of The Year”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...”, also praised Batra's ability to weave a story in “two months”.

“Rarely does a filmmaker write a super script in 2 months....@shakunbatra's new family film just got greenlit and cast! Details coming up,” the filmmaker tweeted Wednesday.

The tweet indicates that Karan's Dharma Productions will back the project.

Though there are reports that Batra's project might bring actors Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan together. Karan said that the speculations will end soon with an official announcement.

Whereas Batra promised a surprise from the actual plot of the film.

“Super excited! but let's go easy on the speculations...it's not the story everyone's talking about! Will share more info soon,” tweeted Batra, whose previous directorial "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu", featuring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, failed to make a mark at the box office.

"Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu" was also produced by Karan, who is gearing up for movie “Bombay Velvet”, in which he has shown his acting skills via a negative character.
