Shane-Falguni Peacock close IBFW in style

Candolim (Goa), Feb 8 (IANS): The first edition of Gionee India Beach Fashion Week 2015 came to a glamorous end, when renowned designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock showcased their "Runaway Bride" collection at the Grand Finale on the picturesque lawns of La Brise here Saturday night.

The mood was set right for the finale with DJs Nina and Malika of Elektrovertz playing in the background and the audience lounging on the comfortable sofas.

Keeping the New Age Indian woman's wedding trousseau requirements in mind, the designing pair created sleek gowns, ornate cropped tops with swirling printed skirts, gossamer fine lehengas, luxuriously embroidered jackets and stunning gowns.

"The Peacock Bride is a woman who is sexy, stylish, very daring, yet elegant and traditional," said the designer-duo after the show.

The colour choices varied from pastel pink, grey, blue, red, yellow, aqua green, and white on the collection that was highlighted by tonal embroidery in an innovative mix of floral and geometric patterns.

Opening the show with a baby pink net lehenga and printed cropped top, it was followed by fishtail low back gowns, corset style lehenga-cum-gowns with shoulder trail and hip hugging long flared embroidered skirts.

There were also long sleeved shirts; tiny velvet and net tank tops, boleros or just plain t-shirts with either racer back or skivvy silhouettes.

To complete the look, the designer-duo displayed a jaunty printed baseball caps to add a sporty angle to the wardrobe of the bride in a hurry.
