This Mangalorean youth, now a resident of Dubai, hits whirlwinds out of his opponents on field.

Batting his way through a successful career in a Bank, thirty-one-year-old Prashant Braggs has had a glorious cricketing performance graph.

Son of Jerome and Benedicta Braggs of Kulshekar, Mangalore, this engineering degree-holder shifted field to management with an MBA from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal.

Speaking about cricket, Braggs becomes passionate which is evident from his words. His interests have been primarily on Cricket and then Web Development. But this self-trained cricketer began his striking streak in the batting cage of the erstwhile Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Suratkal (KREC), now known as National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NITK).

To gauge his talent one needs to hear about his splendid performances. He was adjudged the Best Batsman of the Sharjah CSS Homeward Bound Gold Cup Ramadan Floodlit Tournament 2002, while representing Lloyds TSB Bank, for which he works.

Having bagged the All India Inter-regional Engineering Colleges Championship, held at REC Warangal in 1999, Braggs was also credited as the Best Sportsman of Karnataka Regional Engineering College for the Years 1997 and 1999.

He led the KREC Cricket team in 1997-99 and the volleyball team in 1998 at the University Championships. He represented the Mangalore Zone in U-22 Karnataka State Cricket Championships in 1996.

He also captained Mangalore zone in U-25 Karnataka State Cricket Championships in 1999. In Dubai, he plays for his employer Lloyds TSB Bank in B Division in UAE and in Arab Udupi in A Division tournaments in Dubai.

Being chosen the Man of the Match has been almost a habit for him. Braggs played for Arab Udupi scored unbeaten 95 runs in just 35 balls (with 4 sixes and 14 fours) against Al Ain CC in 2nd NMC Ramadan Floodlit Tournament 2006.

He played for Globlink West Star and scored 56 runs in just 25 balls against Sanyo Electronics in Twenty20 Summer Cup.
 
Prashant, representing Nucaf Tellicherry, played hurricane shots to score 73 runs in just 24 balls, including 4 sixes and 11 fours, against Smart CC in AKCC Tournament. For Lloyds TSB Bank, he scored 90 runs in just 37 balls (6 sixes and 7 fours) against Nuaman CC in CSS Homeward Bound Twenty20 Cup 2005.

His mastery over the game stunned everyone when he scored an unbeaten 97 runs in 57 balls against champion team Emirates Group.

Being active in other fields too, his leadership qualities got centrestage when he represented India as the Youth Ambassador at the International Youth Exchange Programme with Canada (1993-94) and represented Karnataka and Goa Directory at the Republic Day Camp, New Delhi as Air Wing's Best Cadet in 1993.

Young Braggs admits that he obtained inspiration from his parents and in a special way from his godfather Thomas.

A promising cricket star, Braggs has in him what it takes to be an ace cricketer.
