Polling begins for 70 assembly seats in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 7 PTI): Polling began this morning for the 70-member Delhi Assembly polls in which AAP and BJP appeared to be the main contenders.

The voting began at 8 AM at over 12,000 polling stations, of which which 714 have been identified as "critical" and 191 "highly critical".

A total of over 1.33 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise. A total of 673 candidates are in the fray in the contest.

Over 64,000 police personnel had been deployed across the city to ensure free and fair polls.

The BJP, which is out of power in Delhi for the last 16 years, made a gamble by bringing in former Team Anna member Kiran Bedi into the party and made her its Chief Ministerial candidate which is said to have triggered discontent among the party leaders and rank and file.

The BJP strategy has been countered by Kejriwal-led AAP which has put up a spirited campaign in a bid to stop the Narendra Modi juggernaut that has been on a roll ever since the Lok Sabha election victory in May last year.

The Congress, which had ruled Delhi for 15 years till December, 2013 has been projected way behind AAP and BJP in pre-poll surveys. Some opinion polls have given AAP a clear majority while a few have predicted BJP's win.

The Burari constituency in North Delhi has a maximum of 18 candidates while the Ambedkar Nagar seat in South Delhi has the lowest number of contenders at four.

The Matia Mahal constituency has the largest number of electorate at 3.47 lakh while Chandni Chowk the lowest at 1.13 lakh.

Those who monitor elections closely knows one thing that SATTA BAZAAR predicts the Trend quite correctly. it gives a very good trend which way the wind is blowing. The only a election in which Satta bazaar lost is 2012 Punjab election.
This time Satta Bazaar as on 4th Feb came out with its finally tally which states BJP-46, AAP-16 & Congress 7. Even if this figures vary by 10 seats, its very sure that BJP would clearly get the majority. So those who take a clue from Satta Bazaar can go and bet that BJP will get a simple majority.
Further, After yesterdays statement by Bukhari, BJP can easily pass 40 seats in Delhi. Whats very very interesting to know that Satta Bazaar predicts Nupur Sharma to win over Kejriwal. If this happens it will be a Slap of Anarchists face and the End of AAP. Hope Satta Bazzar prediction comes true.. Lets wait for 10th.

No one is depending on Satta BAzaar dear.. It only gives the TREND. This election is also AS USUAL Modi Vs ALL, here it is BJP VS AAP/MIM/JDU/SP/CPIM/Media/Opinion Poll Makers/Journalis/Bhukar & Congress indirectly.

In every election it is common that BJP Vs ALL, and result also common that BJP will be the ultimate winner.

..Congress nowhere, making way for AAP to eat its vote..last time nearly ten seats where AAP lost with few thousand margin..being a supporter, i bet on BJP..AAP is full of negative energy..KUJLI is a pessimist, a confused struggler who want to be a martyr..he cant rule,he fears to sit CM chair..thats why immediate after swearing in ceremony he was restless, suffered loose motion..

It all depends on the number of seats given by the public. Like last time , if he has to depend on Congress / others, then AAP can not fulfil the promises given to the public, Because Cong will never allow to bring LOKPAL bill, So AAP will have to work at the mercy of outsiders, as it happened last time. Both BJP and Cong will never, never support lokpal bill. This is our Patriotism and Nationalism....
