McConaughey to star in 'Born to Run...' movie adaptation

Los Angeles, Jan 29 (IANS): Actor Matthew McConaughey is set to star in the adaptation of Christopher McDougall’s book “Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Super Athletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen”.

Matthew Michael Carnahan is writing the script, with Mickey Liddell, Deb Newmyer and Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing, reports variety.com.

The film is currently without distribution.

McConaughey is continuing to find projects that sway more toward the serious dramas like “Mud” and “Dallas Buyers Club” that have helped revitalised his career in recent years as opposed to the romantic comedies that helped him make a name for himself early on in his career.

He was last seen in Christopher Nolan's “Interstellar” and will next appear in Gus Van Sant’s “Sea of Trees”.
