Kuwait, Dec 21: The Kuwait Kannada Koota, under president Dr Vivek Wani, presented a variety entertainment programme in Kuwait on Wednesday, December 20 evening in the Indian Community School for Senior Girls – Salmiya. 

It was part of the year-long celebrations of diamond jubilee of Karnataka Rajyotsava.

The programme commenced with a welcome by the president, who said that this was the very first time in the history of organization that a troupe from Karnataka would entertain the audience in Kuwait.

True to its name, the nine-member Hradayavahini troupe headed by Manjunath Sagar gave a spirited performance. The group consisted of various talented people like humourist Munjunath Sagar, noted light music vocalist and playback singer Ratnamala Prakash and well-known Bharatanatyam exponent Dhanalaxmi who also specializes in Yoga Nritya.

The audience were sent into a spell by her most flexible yoganritya which is unique. She performed it the first time in Kuwait. 

Srinivas Varma is a famous drawing artist and he displayed his skill on stage. Chinmai and Muddukrishna entertained the audience with their hit Kannada numbers.

Rajgopal, Ramakrishna Udupa and Krishnamurthy were the other artisits.  Rib-tickling jokes and short poems made audience forget all their routine fatigue.

Vasanta Ashok Kumar and Poornima Hegde introduced the guest artists and honoured them with bouquets. The winners of the inter-house competition were also honoured during this function. This part of programme was compered by Rangashri.

The well-organized and well-enjoyed programme came to an end with vice president Dr Nayak proposing a vote of thanks.

Dr Surendra Nayak was the main compere for the programme.
