Mangalore, Dec 20: Louis Netto (75), a well-known Konkani theatre personality of yesteryear, passed away on Wednesday, December 20.

He is survived by wife Judith nee Serrao, daughter Pramita and son Ivor.

Louis had made a big name as an actor, director and stage decor specialist and was a familiar figure in Don Bosco hall a few decades ago.

His spirited performance in 'the lead role of Kristavank Diya Shinvank', based on the persecution of Christians in Rome in the olden days, is being talked about even today.

In his prime days, he worked in the office of St Joseph's Asylum Industrial Workshops.  He and his brothers were blessed with great talents.

While Eddie Netto is a well-known author, writer and columnist, the youngest, the late Ozie was a talented drummer in the music group of Wilfy Rebimbus and the United Youngsters.

Louis had the credit of having been associated with great stalwarts of Konkani stage like the late Simon Rasquinha.
