Golden Globe: 'Boyhood' named Best Motion Picture - Drama


Los Angeles, Jan 12 (IANS): "Boyhood", which was shot intermittently over 12 years to encapsulate the life of a boy from the tender age of five to 18, won the Best Motion Picture - Drama award at the 72nd Annual Golden Globe ceremony here Sunday.

The film's team including its director Richard Linklater, who won the Best Director - Motion Picture, went up the stage to accept the Golden Globe.

"Foxcatcher", "The Imitation Game", "Selma" and "The Theory of Everything" were nominated in the same category.

The award for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical went to "The Grand Budapest Hotel" - a story about the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune.

It was up against "Birdman", "Into the Woods", "Pride" and "St. Vincent".
