I'm a phone addict: Pariva Pranati

Mumbai, Jan 7 (IANS): Actress Pariva Pranati makes the most of her free time on the set of "Hamari Sister Didi" to be active on social media.

The 31-year-old, who plays the character of Amrita in "Hamari Sister Didi", says she's quite a phone addict.

Even if there is a two-minute break during the shoot, the first thing she does is to take her phone and start texting.

"Well yes, I am a phone addict and the reason is that I'm not only talking to my family and friends, but it’s because of Facebook. I am very proactive on it,” Pariva said in a statement.

Pariva is also an animal lover.

“Everyone knows that I'm an animal friendly person. I make sure to keep myself updated on the various rescue missions on the animals...this is because if I get the opportunity to do something for animals, I try not to leave a single stone unturned,” she added.

Rahul Bhat finds producing TV shows better

Actor Rahul Bhat, who made his small screen debut with the popular TV series “Heena” in 1998, says he likes to produce TV shows but is not interested in acting in it.

After “Heena”, Rahul went on to produce shows like “Tum Dena Saath Mera”, “Chhu Kar Mere Mann Ko” and “Meri Doli Tere Angana”, but never thought of acting in them even once.

Asked why he didn't act in TV shows for all these years, he said: “I was not interested in TV. I did 'Heena' when I was 18 and it ran for five years. 'Heena' had the highest TRPs back then."

“After that, the progression to films was natural for me. I'd rather produce television and make some money than do some stupid films.”

Despite the success “Heena”, Rahul disappeared from the small screen for 10 years. He went on to try his luck in films but was not offered roles which he liked.

“I'd never thought I'll take such a long break. My film 'Nayee Padosan' did fairly well, but after that I was offered films which didn't appeal to me. The time was wrong, cinematically speaking.

“I was not ready to do silly movies with mediocre directors, nor did I want to work in TV serials. So, I thought I'll wait for the right time till good roles, big offers come my way ... now my time has come. It came a bit late, but it did.”

Rahul was recently seen in Anurag Kashyap's “Ugly”.
