Arsenal goalkeeper Szczesny fined 20000 pounds for smoking

London, Jan 6 (IANS): Arsenal’s Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been reportedly fined 20,000 pounds for smoking in the bathroom after an English Premier League match.

Coach Arsene Wenger was left furious when the 24-year-old was caught smoking after his goalkeeping blunders led to a 0-2 defeat against Southampton Jan 1, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Szczesny has been caught earlier too and was pictured twice with a cigarette in 2013.

Wenger has always taken a tough stand against such practices and had earlier warned English mid-fielder Jack Wilshere and French defender William Gallas.

Szczesny has reportedly apologised after the incident.
