Mangalore, Dec 11: Niite Education Trust president Vinaya Hegde inaugurated "Imprints-06" a two- day state- level inter -collegiate science festival at St Aloysius College here on Monday on December 11.

In his address he said" today we have forgotten the importance of basic science in day-today-life. These kinds of academic fests will help to create awareness among the public to know it's important."

While taking about the skills needed for a student he said that a student must be patient and he must understand others' point of view which will be easier for him to develop.

Rector of St Aloysius College Fr Francis Serrao S J presided over the function. Nearly 25 colleges are expected to participate in the two-day science festival.

A science exhibition "Spectra"   involving more than 50 science models was the star attraction of the two-day state-level science festival.

Fr Eugene Lobo S J , principal of St Aloysius College, Imprints coordinator Prof Precilla D'Silva, student Coordinator Colin Noronha were present on the dais.
