Dubai, Dec 11: Here is another opportunity for all those fun-loving, music-crazy fans in the UAE to enjoy a variety of music tunes from Goa, Sri Lanka and Mangalore.

'Mando Baila Fiesta', organized by Distant Dreamz, a leading holiday travel company based in Sharjah under the direction of a very own Mangalorean Ronald Pasanna, has started receiving great response to the ambitious mega show.

If Lorna and Usha Uthup are the prime attraction at one side, two leading, internationally renowned bands from Goa and Sri Lanka will surely lure the young and the old into dancing to the tunes of their music.

Lynx has already created its name in the music arena, especially among music-loving Goans. Lynx is a band that almost everyone in Goa has heard or heard of. They have been around for over a decade and their 'links' to music go way back in memory. Lynx was formed in 1994 as an offshoot of a band that used to play at the Oberoi Hotel in Bogmalo.

Lynx

Terry, the main man of the band, talks on how it was formed. He says "At the Oberoi's we were called Link, and everybody calls us Links, because lot of people have this habit of putting things in plural. So when we left the hotel and formed the new band we retained the same name but changed spelling. And it worked well - a lynx is an animal
that sleeps in the day and awake all through the night."

Lynx has previously performed in Dubai several times, but then it was on an annual contract. Besides Dubai, Lynx has also travelled around the Gulf and also England.

Music-lovers gathering at Al Nasr Leiesureland the coming Thursday can expect some electrifying numbers to keep them busy on the dance floor until the end.

Zodiac

On the other hand, Zodiac, is one of the most popular bands available in Sri Lanka. The group is expected to belt out baila numbers and bring back the memories of some great Konkani Baila numbers. Many people admit that when it comes to baila, there is hardly anyone is around to beat the Sri Lankans!

The blend of Goan and Sri Lankan music will surely bring the show live throughout on Thursday.

To add to the spice, Bollywood choreographer Bosco of Bosco-Ceasar fame will direct the entire show.
