Cagliari sack coach Zeman

Rome, Dec 24 (IANS): Italian Serie A side Cagliari have parted ways with head coach Zdenek Zeman, the football club announced.

Born in the Czech Republic, the 67-year-old Zeman spent most of his coaching career in Italy, reports Xinhua.

He took the job in Cagliari in June 2014 but his side only managed two wins in 16 matches, sitting third from bottom of the league table with 12 points.

Cagliari will play Palermo Jan 6 after the winter break and the club is yet to announce the successor for Zeman.
