Lack of snow forces FIS to cancel women's World Cup

Vienna, Dec 21 (IANS): The International Ski Federation (FIS) Sunday cancelled the women's World Cup races in Semmering, Austria next week because of lack of snow.

A giant slalom was scheduled for Sunday, followed by a night slalom the next day on the Zauberberg course, reports Xinhua.

Mild temperatures had already forced FIS to cancel World Cup men's and women's parallel slaloms in Munich on New Year's Day.
