Excited to meet football fanatics in Mumbai: Alessandro Del Piero

Mumbai, Dec 19 (IANS): Alessandro Del Piero was stunned to see the craze for football in the people here when he came to promote Australian Merino wool as a high-tech sports active-wear fabric. The Italian football legend says that "people here are football fanatics".

Recently signed as the brand ambassador for the Woolmark Company’s 'Merino Wool, No Finer Feeling' global fibre advocacy campaign, Del Piero visited the Shoppers Stop store in Juhu, dressed in a light-weight woollen shirt.

What happened then was a series of conversations around football, Australian Merino wool, and meeting with his hard-core fans.

“I really feel excited to be in Mumbai as I have got a chance to meet all my fans who live here. I must say people here are football fanatics and have a great knowledge,” said the football legend.

He likes his association with The Woolmark Company and feels "connected to the brand because when I wear Merino Wool, I feel very comfortable."

"I feel right with myself because I can do everything, I can go anywhere. It’s great and I love it,” he added.

The Woolmark Company recently concluded the consumer campaign in collaboration with fashion retailer Shoppers Stop in order to promote wool and woollen apparel across select Shoppers Stop stores in India.
