Nigerian Rasaq to boost Mohun Bagan defence

Kolkata, Dec 16 (IANS): City football giants Mohun Bagan Tuesday roped in Nigerian central defender Bello Oladimeji Rasaq on loan from Tollygunge Agragami for the ongoing domestic season.

Rasaq has also turned out for Indian clubs United SC, Salgaocar FC and Fransa FC in the past.

"The registration has been done with the consent of head coach Sanjoy Sen," the club said in a statement Tuesday.

"It is of course a great feeling to play for such a big club like Mohun Bagan. I am really looking forward to play my debut game donning the green and maroon jersey in the upcoming Federation Cup," the 30-year-old Rasaq said.

Rasaq also said that playing under coach Sen won't be a problem as he is aware of his methods.

"I have played under his coaching for 1-1/2 years. He is a very good coach who has a lot of belief in me."
