Dec 14: Mando Baila: Mangalorean-Goan-Sri Lankan Recipe in Dubai

Dubai, Nov 26: Dubai is turning out to be one of t most entertaining venue in the middle east for Indian events. Innovation is always on the cards of organizing the events.

In a latest development, a young event management and holiday package profession Ronald Pasanna from Mangalore, has embarked on the big plan of bringing three communities under one umbrella - the communities which complement each other!

Baila, the popular concept of dance and songs, has its links with the Sri Lankans, Goans and Mangaloreans worldwide. And Ronald is panning to present a memorable entertainment evening to all communities around by hosting 'Mando Baila Fiesta' on December 14, 2006 at the Al nasr Leisure land Ice Rink.

The popular names are already lined up to perform. Usha Uthup, Goan Nightingale Lorna, popular Sri Lankan Band Zodiac, Well-known Goan band Lynx will be the key performers on the event.

The up-and-coming Mangalorean Alwyn Noronha who already has few his own musical nites to his credit is also participating in this event.

Ronald, who is putting in ots of efforts in his debut show in Dubai says, "This will be a festival of entertainment and will be the first-ever fusion between Indian Mando and Sri Lankan Baila music. Usha Uthup is India's first and only international artiste with six English language song releases. If there is a legend bridging the East and the West, it is Usha. With her music and charm, she has transcended the barriers of caste, creed, language and nationality. Accolades for her have come from all over the world and she has sung for Prime Ministers and Presidents alike. Indira Gandhi, Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Arap Moi and more recently Nelson Mandela have all been her ardent admirers. Her endearing charm and powerful vocal chords have given Usha fans of all ages, from all over the world."

On Lorna he says " Lorna for sure does not need any introduction to the Goan and Manglorean audiences as she has created a niche for herself in Konkani music. She is regarded as the 'Nightingale of Goa', and has a long string of Konkani albums to her credit. We are expecting a capacity crowd (over 3,000) for the event. Targeted audience would be a mixture of Indian as well as Sri Lankan expatriates."

Music-loving Sri Lankan crowd will be entertained by their own Zodiac.
