Moodbidri, Nov 24: Alva's cultural fest Alva's Nudisiri was inaugurated by Dr Siddalingayya, president, Kannada Pradhikara Karnataka here on Friday November 24.
After a ceremonial lamp lighting and pouring of paddy into a wooden container, Dr Siddalingayya, while speaking on the occasion, lauded the efforts of Alva's Education Foundation in conducting Nudisiri and expressed the hope that such events will reduce the effects of globalization on Kannada.
Dr Chandrashekar Kambara presided over the function.
Dr Kambara was felicitated by Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva's Education Foundation on the occasion.
Dr Mohan Alva welcomed the gathering while journalist Manohar Prasad compered.
MLA Abayachandra and ex-MLA Amaranath Shetty were on the dais.
Several book stalls were put up as part of the event.
