Bangalore, Nov 12: The police conducted a thorough search of the Vidhana Soudha on Saturday following an anonymous call that a bomb has been planted at the monumental building, which is on the terrorist hit list. The police said that around 11.30 a.m., a man called the Police Control Room and introduced himself as Upendra.

The police rushed to the Vidhana Soudha, along with the staff of Bomb Detection Squad and searched the building and its periphery for nearly three hours.

No explosive was found and the call turned out to be a hoax, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) G.B. Chebbi said.

The police traced the number of the mobile phone from which the call was made and the identity of the owner.  "We are yet to apprehend the person," Mr. Chebbi told.
