Conte urges Italian football to accept reality

Milan, Nov 19 (IANS): Italy's chief coach Antonio Conte warned that the country's football is not developing on the right track and said that all the stakeholders must join hands to deal with the problem.

Conte has been critical of the Italian football which he reckons should embrace change to improve, reports Xinhua.

"I know that Italian soccer is not developing in the right direction," Conte said ahead of his team's friendly match against Albania in Genoa.

"We must come to terms with this and then turn words into actions."

He advised that the Italian football should make concerted efforts in order to overcome the crisis.

"We need the involvement of all parties concerned. If it continues at this rate then it will be just the beginning of a decline," he said.

"When I was at Juventus I thought only of my club but from this position I see things that I do not like," he added.
