Mangalore, Nov 11:  In yet another raid, the excise police led by Vinod Kumar have seized a large quantity of spurious liquor being transported illegally on a lorry at Kulur in the early hours of Saturday November 11.

The Goa-registered lorry was specially designed with hidden compartments to transport liquor.  A total of 250 boxes of liquor of some well-known brands was being transported from Goa.  The police intercepted the vehicle at Kulur and arrested the lorry driver Dinakar Patil.

The police also seized liquor worth Rs 7 lac from lorry.  The raid was carried out as per the directives of Excise Commissioner Rajanna and guidance of inspector B J Hiremath.
