Mangalore, Nov 10: While almost everyone is cursing the persons who called for bundh which led for clashes and turned the city into a boiling cauldron in the last month, some of the persons who were behind the bundh now claim that they gave bundh call for the betterment of society.

Addressing a press conference here in the city on Friday November 10 evening, Sri Ram Sene chief Arun Kumar Puttila said that their intention was not to harm anyone but to promote amity and peace among sections of the society.  "The strikes were not to harm the people but to stop cow slaughter and for the betterment of the society," he added.

When he was asked whether they are ready to bear the losses incurred during bundh, he said that it was not their responsibility and they have nothing to do with that.  "We gave a call for bundh but did not invite anyone to go on rampage and cause harm to property and life," he added.

Sri Ram Sene office bearers Prasad Attavar, Jitesh Udupi, Madhusudan, Vivek Prabhu and Anantha Prabhu were also present at the press conference.
