Kush Kumar, Harshit retain titles


Chennai, Nov 1 (IANS): Kush Kumar (TN) and Harshit Kaur Jwanda (Del) retained the titles in the Under-19 boys and girls sections, respectively, in the sub-junior and junior national squash championship at the Indian Squash Association (ISA) courts here Saturday.

Kush thus signed off from the junior ranks with his ninth national title overall from U-11 stage. He was a class apart in the final against Vijay Kumar as he won 11-5, 11-7, 11-6.

Second seeded Jwanda, on the other hand, just managed to hold on to beat Lakshya Ragavendran, the top seed from TN, 9-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-4, 11-7.

Girls - U-19: 2-Harshit Kaur Jawanda (Del)bt 1-Lakshya Ragavendran (TN) 9-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-4, 11-7. U-17: 2-Adya Advani (Del) bt 1-Akanksha Salunkhe (Goa) 11-7, 6-11, 11-6, 3-11, 11-9.
