Vikas downs Ranjit in junior national squash


Chennai, Oct 30 (IANS): Tamil Nadu's Vikas Mehra upset second seed Ranjit Singh of Uttar Pradesh in four games for a semifinal berth in the Under-17 boys section as another day of intense competition was completed in the sub-junior and junior National Squash Championship here Thursday.

Another notable moment came in the girls U-11 section where another Tamil Nadu player N. Mounisha edged out second seed Yuvna Gupta of Maharashtra in five games.

However, for the top seeds in various age group categories, the going was smooth as they took their appointed spots in the semi-finals.
