Mangalore, Oct 20 (6-25 am IST): This year's monsoon showers, although they arrived late to begin with, look like unwilling to stop.

Over the past week, it has been drizzing off and on around the city. Some parts of the district had powerful gales and rains with reports of loss of agricultural property.

Weather was very humid on Thursday and warm temperature in the night gave a hint of some showers. After midnight it started raining steadily. By early hours of the morning, very loud thunder and bright lightning were experienced towards the northern side of the city.

City downtown areas had heavy showers as the day dawned.
