Committee on freedom fighters' problems to meet Sep 3


New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS): A committee set up to look into the problems of freedom fighters will meet at Port Blair next week to formulate ways for fast redressal of grievances, the home ministry said Thursday.

The meeting of the ministry's Committee of Eminent Freedom Fighters would be held Sep 3 under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, said a home ministry statement.

"The committee has been reconstituted to look into the issues of concerns to the freedom fighters, their general problems and grievances, facilities to the freedom fighters and to their eligible dependents and give suggestions for improvement therein," it said.

"The committee will give suggestions for the expeditious redressal of grievances of freedom fighters," it said.
