Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 28 (IANS): A court here Thursday dismissed a probe report in a corruption case and directed the Kerala vigilance department to re-investigate the accused, including Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, two cabinet ministers and eight other people.

The vigilance court was looking into alleged corruption in the implementation of the Rs.2.56 billion pollution control and expansion project in the state-owned Travancore Titanium Products Ltd. located here.

The alleged corruption took place when Chandy was chief minister in 2004-06. The case was filed by an employee of the company at the vigilance court.

The court asked the vigilance department to submit its report in four months.

The ministers named by the court include state Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and Minister for Public Works V.K. Ebrahim Kunju.

The probe report submitted to the court said there was a loss of Rs.8 million, but it could not zero down on who was responsible.

The court, however, rejected the probe report and ordered a re-investigation.

Meanwhile, the opposition Left Front demanded that Chandy should quit as chief minister.
