Music, dance festival in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS): A three-day festival celebrating classical Indian dance and music will begin in Delhi Sep 3, organisers said Thursday.

The annual festival "Parampara Series" hosts a series of dance and music performances that is also aimed at affording a platform to young artists.

"We have always tried to bring in talented artists on this platform who can bring in fresh perspectives to an otherwise mundane concert," said Raja Radha Reddy, organiser of the festival.

On the inaugural day, Kuchipudi exponent Yamini Reddy will start the show, followed by a musical performance by a fusion-band "SubraMania".

The second day will have Sarod recital by Ayan Ali Khan and there will also be a performance by Kathak-duo Abhimanyu and Vidha Lal.

The festival will close with a fusion-music performance by a Los-Angeles based group.
