Mangalore, Sep 9: In a massive protest against chief minister Kumaraswamy, various Muslim organisations here took to the streets on Friday September 8, demanding an unconditional apology from the CM for his remarks that madrassas encourage terrorism.

The protest rally, organised by the Karnataka Forum Dignity, began at Jyothi Circle and terminated at the deputy commissioner's office. More than 5,000 people from all over the district joined the rally demanding CM's resignation along with the apology for having hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.

Sunni Yuva Jana Sangha, New Age India Forum, Jamat-ul-Falah, Jamat-ul-Ulama and Central Muslim committee also participated in the protest.

Traffic was disrupted for a couple of hours in the heart of the city.
