by Remcy Fernandes Daijiworld News Network - UAE

Dubai, Sep 9: SMKC Dubai held a cultural event to mark the Nativity feast on Friday, Septemebr 8. By a happy coincidence, the day of the feast was a Friday this year, so people were happy to celebrate the feast on the exact day of Nativity.

Gearing up for the forthcoming mega "Konkan Showers" annual event of the year, St Mary's Konkani Community, led by Noel Mascarenhas under the spiritual direction of Fr Frederick D`Souza, presented a three-hour cultural show mainly to give a chance to budding talents and the youth wing of SMKC, Konkan Yuva.

The event was marked by various cultural and traditional presentations, participated in by the young and the adult from various regional associations and Konkan Yuva.

It was heartening to see even the Goan community ctively participate in the cultural event.

Kuddmi dance, Manddo, skits, dances, songs, spot prizes and a short play "Pisantt' presented by Konkan Yuva were the highlights of the evening

'Novem jevann' was arranged for the gathering with the blessing of Fr Fredrick D`Souza.

Asha Pinto and Oswald Fernades compered the event. Norbert Sequeira proposed vote of thanks
