Former health minister Ramadoss granted bail in graft case


New Delhi, Aug 26 (IANS): A court here Tuesday granted bail to former union health minister Anbumani Ramadoss and four others, allegedly involved in favouring an Uttar Pradesh private medical college by renewing permission to admit students in 2008-2009.

Central Bureau of Investigation Special Judge Madhu Jain granted bail to Ramadoss and four others namely the then deputy secretary in the ministry of health and family welfare, K.V.S. Rao; chairman of Rohilkhand Medical College in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Kumar Aggarwal; and doctors of Safdarjung Hospital here, Vindu Amitabh and Sanjeev Kumar Rasania.

The court asked them to furnish personal bonds of Rs.1 lakh and one surety of the like amount each.

The case was transferred from Lucknow to Delhi on the order of the Supreme Court.

CBI had chargesheeted them for allegedly showing favours to Rohilkhand Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) in Bareilly.
