Delhi Book Fair to begin Saturday

New Delhi, Aug 21 (IANS): The 20th edition of the Delhi Book Fair, with the theme "Literature in Cinema", will begin here Aug 23, the organisers said Thursday.

Around 300 publishers from different parts of India will come together at the nine-day long event that will take place at Pragati Maidan. It will end Aug 31.

The event, organised by the Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) and the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), will have plenty of literary and cultural activities to keep the visitors engaged, said the organisers.

"Expect a lot of books on which films have been made. Manuscripts and publications in other languages will also be included along with Hindi and English," said FIP president Ashok Gupta.

There will be book launches and book reading sessions. A writing contest for young adults, a poetry session and a painting and creative writings session will also be held.
