Nine die in Afghanistan blasts


Kabul, Aug 11 (IANS): At least nine people were killed Monday in two separate bomb attacks in Afghanistan's Ghazni province, a police official said.

"A police van set off a roadside bomb in Andar district, and the explosion killed six policemen and left two injured," the official told Xinhua.

The team was travelling to investigate an attack on a security checkpoint in the district, the official said.

In Gilan district, three men were killed when their motorcycle ran over a roadside bomb.
