IAF's Jaguar fighter aircraft crashes


New Delhi, Aug 1 (IANS): A Jaguar fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near Bhuj in Gujarat Friday. The pilot managed to eject safely.

A defence ministry release said that the crash took place at 12.06 p.m., about 30 km from Bhuj.

"The pilot, who was airborne from Bhuj at (11.40 a.m.), was on a flying training mission and has ejected safely. There is no reported damage on the ground," the release said.

It said that a court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the accident.
