Two women injured in Pakistan acid attack


Islamabad, Aug 1 (IANS): A woman and her daughter were injured Friday in an acid attack in Pakistan's Punjab province.

According to police sources, the two women, Momina and her daughter Amina, were inside their residence in Rahim Yar Khan town when five men hurled acid-filled plastic bags into the house, Dawn online reported. 

The victims received burns on their faces and hands.

Hospital sources said the two women was out of danger.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the five attackers, the sources said.

Acid attacks against women are common in Pakistan where women face discrimination in all spheres of social life.
