Kuwait Airways aircraft makes emergency landing in Brussels

Brussels, July 29 (IANS): A Kuwait Airways aircraft made an emergency landing at Brussels airport due to smoke in the cockpit.

According to Brussels airport spokesperson Florence Muls, the appearance of smoke in the cockpit of the aircraft forced the pilot to make the emergency landing Monday, Xinhua reported.

The plane was en route to London from Kuwait with 200 passengers on board.

The pilot noticed a smoke warning coming from the cargo section of the aircraft and decided to land as a precaution, Muls said.

After the landing, all the passengers were evacuated from the aircraft and were taken by buses to the airport building.

The Kuwait embassy in Brussels later sent its representatives to meet the passengers.
