MUMBAI, Aug 9: Armed dacoits on Tuesday looted Rs 4.30 lakh from the Kurla branch of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank, police said.
The dacoits, who were suspected to be carrying firearms, entered the bank premises situated on Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg in Kurla, barely minutes after the bank business started for the day.
Threatening the employees of dire consequences, the dacoits removed the cash from the cashier's chamber and escaped, police said, adding it was being ascertained if the bank had employed any armed guard at its premises.
