Mumbai, Aug 5: Krishnaraj Rai, father of Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, underwent an emergency operation of his small intestine at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Friday night.

Krishnaraj was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after he complained of stomach ache and had several bouts of vomiting. A CT scan was performed and doctors decided to operate upon him immediately, actress's secretary Hari Singh said.
Krishnaraj was in the intensive care unit of the hospital. His condition was stable and was expected to be shifted to a private ward on Saturday, he added.
