Akola (Maharashtra), Jul 24: Police have detained a hairdresser for his false claim that a terrorist, allegedly involved in the recent Mumbai blasts, had visited his salon at Motala village in adjoining Buldana district, police said.

During interrogation on Sunday, accused Anil Krishna Mahale revealed before district superintendent of police Krishna Prakash that he had made such bogus claims to a newspaper to claim the reward of Rs 25 lakh announced by authorities for any information regarding the blast accused, as well as to get publicity.

The Buldana police grilled him for four hours.

Hailing from Takli village, Mahale had studied till 10th standard and had also completed a civil draftsmanship course. Because of his skill in drawing, he had earlier helped police to draw sketches of terrorists, sources said.
