Mangalore: St Joseph Eng College First Batch Comes out with Flying Colours

Mangalore, Jul 24: The first batch of students of St Joseph Engineering College, which was started by the Diocese of Mangalore in 2002 at Vamanjoor, has come out with tremendous success registering 96.55 results in the IV year (8th Semester) examinations. The exams were held in May 2006 by Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum.

Out of the 174 students 168 have passed. Among them 97 have secured First Class with Distinction, 68 First Class and 3 Second Class.

The results have flown the flag of the institution and the diocese high.

Toppers

In the Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Rashmi K has stood first with 84.93% marks. In the Mechanical Engineering Sharath Dominic D'Souza has stood first with 82.08%. In the Electronics and Communication Engineering subject Manjushree Kamath has bagged the first place with 81.06% and in Computer Science and Engineering Kavitha S has stood first with 79.68% marks.

Placement

Adding to the joy of the results, 56 students of the first batch have been recruited for employment by some prestigious Companies and Industrial Houses of India through campus selection.

College president Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, convener and diocesan vicar general Msgr Fred V Pereira, director Fr Valerian D’Souza, Fr. Henry Mascarehas, Asst. Director, principal Dr R K Yaji and members of the staff have congratulated the students on their performance.
