Indore, Jul 17: AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday mooted an inquiry into serious allegations, levelled by former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana and Bharatiya Janshakti president Uma Bharti, that senior BJP leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani had links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

"Both Ms Bharti and Mr Khurana have been associated with the BJP and know more about the matter. However, Ms Bharti has nothing left and is a flop. Legislators are paying scant heed to her and she will re-enter BJP ranks sooner or later," he told reporters.

Accusing Madhya Pradesh's BJP regime of being neck-deep in corruption, the former chief minister referred to a multi-crore petroleum scam, pension scam and irregularities in construction work during Ujjain's Simhastha Mela in 2004.

"No conclusion was arrived at despite information being sought, in the Assembly, over the pension scam and Simhastha probe report. Applications have also been submitted under the Right to Information," he added.
